Anyway, it worked out fine and I made some progress studying. When I finished, I took a minute to explore the rest of the area I hadn't seen yet. I found some really comfy-looking armchairs near a very inviting fireplace and huge full-length windows that look out to this very green forested area. It was beautiful! It gave me that feeling again that I was up in the mountains, far away from the bustle of work/study life. For a moment, I just stood there, admiring the view and wishing I could remain in that spot for a while.
An online journal of the little moments that we don't want to let slip through the cracks!

Library Design
Today I ended up at the library for some of my study time. I don't typically like being around a lot of other people while trying to focus in on studying, but I thought it would be less distracting than being at home. Turns out, they have these nice private (and quiet!) study rooms for personal use. Only drawback is the two hour time limit.

If every day was like today...
Today was a study day for me. That means that I spent the whole work day studying for my upcoming actuarial exam instead of doing my usual work. I'm fortunate to have support from work to take study hours during work time, and usually, I would just take an hour or two of work time in a day, but I've fallen a bit behind and I've built up a good pool of work study hours. Between now and my exam on October 31st, I'll probably get a few more days in like today. If EVERY work day between now and the end of the month could be spent like today, I think I would be in pretty good shape!
Well, this afternoon Suzanna was running some errands, so I sat on the couch for a bit while Emmelise played on the floor in front of me. She was so much fun to watch: she leaned forward and grabbed at her toy bucket, pulling it onto its side. Then she'd look inside and pull a toy out. I was really distracted, watching her playing there, and I thought to myself, "I could watch her do this for an hour at least!" Too bad I had to turn my attention back to the exam material.
She sure is such a sweet girl and was a bright spot in my (long) study day!
3.5 weeks left! Yikes!
